Tomas Hendrik Ilves on divorcing his wife: “It was not an easy decision”

“It was not an easy decision. We spent several wonderful years together and have a wonderful son who will always have his mother and father by his side,” Ilves said. On December 26, or Second Christmas, Ilves celebrated his 70th birthday.

As is known, Ilvesa announced the decision to divorce on the social networking platform “Facebook”.

“In this pre-Christmas mood, it is with deep sadness that I have to inform you that almost eight years of marriage with my husband Tomas Ilves are ending.

No moment is right for such decisions, however, right now, after much thought and respecting Thomas’s choice, it is clear to me that in the future we will each go our own way, taking care of the children’s well-being together.

From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful to the people of Estonia, who accepted me so warmly and always received me kindly both in Tallinn and in the countryside. I have always felt at home in Estonia. I have learned a lot from you and I am taking your experience, especially in the technology sector, further to the world – currently working in Ukraine,” Ilvesa’s post on Facebook said.

We remind you that Ieva and Tomas Ilvesi exchanged rings on January 2, 2016 in Estonia. Ilvesa has three children, the youngest of them – Hans Hendriks – was born in November 2016.
