It was a strong love, we laughed hard, cried hard, lived hard and gave everything we could for each other,” Siska writes with a photo on Instagram. “All that remains is love and respect. The couple has two children together, Lucien (10) and Minnie (5). Tomas already had two older children, Martha and Leon, from a previous relationship.
Their relationship started fourteen years ago, but only became known in December 2008. Two weeks before they would dive into the Glass House together for what was then Music for life was called. When they were both still working for Studio Brussel. the same Music for life caused the spark to jump between the two. After all, a year earlier they had already been together in the Glass House, then with Peter Van de Veire.

It became unpleasant for a while when I was getting divorced from Leon and Martha’s mom, and Siska and I hadn’t been together for very long,” Tomas said in an interview. “I remember sitting in France with Leon for the recording of the program Somewhere along the way. “Not a showbiz couple”
That initial media attention waned over the years. Last summer Siska Schoeters had an explanation for this in our newspaper. “Tomas and I, we are not a showbiz couple. You will hardly find us on the red carpets.” She was also honest: their relationship went through trial and error. There were some obstacles, but overall it went well. “After twelve years we are a good team. Something has to be done to make this go wrong. We started with a difficult divorce, a newly formed family, hard work… Fortunately we can still laugh a lot together. Of course you experience something at twelve years old. It goes up and down. But it’s okay.”

In that same interview, she also expressed her hope that she and Tomas can create a warm nest for the children. “I hope we can meet each other high five can give because we have done well. I am often incredibly proud of my children. I want them to take care of other people and I hope that they are self-aware, that they are happy with who they are.”
It is not clear why they each chose their own path in the end.
