Tom Waes Signs Three-Year Contract with Dutch Public Broadcasters for New Programs

Tom Waes will be making programs for the Dutch public broadcaster for the next three years. The 55-year-old presenter and actor has signed a contract with both the Belgian channel VRT and the NPO. These two broadcasters will work together.

It concerns five programs, reports the VRT. Two of these are fiction series and the other three are non-fiction programs.

Last year it became clear that the NPO and VRT have entered into a partnership. The projects with Waes, who gained fame in our country through his role in the popular Netflix series Undercover, are the first of these. The Belgian will therefore be seen more often on Dutch television.

“I am incredibly honored that in the coming years I will be able to make programs not only for Flemish, but also for Dutch viewers,” says Waes. “Of course I visit our neighboring country more often, thanks to the programs Undercover in Travel Waes.”

The first co-production with Waes can be seen in early 2024. It is not yet known what kind of program this is.

Waes has been a well-known television face in Belgium for fifteen years. He made programs like Travel Waes, Empty test room in The story of Flanders.
