Musician and singer Toms Samsons, who has chosen the stage name Tom Simo, comes from Saldus, but is currently studying popular and jazz music in the 4th year of Liepāja Secondary School of Music, Art and Design.
Tom names his personality, timbre, technique and ability to dance as his special “strings”.
Tom says of himself that he is an extrovert, he likes to talk, so personality is one of the ways he stands out and attracts attention.
The candidate of the show connects his life with music and learns jazz vocals. The singer admits that she has done a lot to be in the “Factor”, he feels that a new door must be opened to unprecedented musical success.
“It’s not the most perfect song. I waited quite a long time for you to finally start singing and show your voice. I hear you have a voice. I hear the potential, ”Reinis analyzed the performance.
The mentors in the lounge thought that Tom was manners, that it should be taken out, which could be achieved with songs that are not his usual repertoire.
Reinis, however, gave Tom Samson a chair, which means that the guy goes to “Factor X” live.
In the show “X Factors” participants are divided into four categories: boys aged 16-25, girls aged 16-25, 25+ and vocal groups.
The categories will be led by four mentors: Aija Auškāpa, manager of the group “Brainstorm”, musician, producer, Reinis Sējāns, member of the group “Instruments”, music producer, songwriter and performer, Marats Ogļezņevs, member of the group “Musiqq” and musician, singer and trombonist Intars Busulis.
Viewers, every Sunday, until December 12, have the opportunity to follow the musical battle for the main prize – 10,000 euros and a contract with the world’s leading music recording company “Universal Music Group”.
The competition takes place in three stages – in the first stage the participants met in “TV selections”, in the second stage “Chair Challenges” are expected, during which the finalists and members of each mentor’s team are determined, and in the final stage – “Final Live” 12 finalists will compete.
“X Factors” took place in Latvia for the first time in 2017.
