Under suspicion sugar intake issue and former Minister of Commerce Tom Lembong share his handwriting from prison. Tom promised to always be cooperative and fight to find the truth.
The handwriting was written on a piece of paper. The photo was then uploaded to Tom Lembong’s Instagram account through his lawyer. Tom wrote the letter in two languages, namely Indonesian and English.
Tom began writing it by thanking everyone who believed in him.

“This is the statement Mr. Tom issued today through his lawyer: Friends, ladies and gentlemen, I just want to express my deepest gratitude to all parties who have helped , who help, and “continue to help me… to my friends, fathers and the community who are still praying for me… Thank you to everyone who is still lifting confidence in me,” said Tom Lembong in a seen upload, Saturday (9/11/2024).
Tom promised to cooperate in the case against him. He believes there are still many law enforcement officers who are professional and fair.
“I am still trying to be cooperative, positive and helpful, to help reveal the truth and uphold justice… I believe that many prosecutors and prosecutors there are still those who work hard and professionally to uphold justice … Indonesia and we will continue to serve “To Indonesia … God bless us all, and always guide us there the better way…” said Tom.
Additionally, Tom’s statement to his lawyer was featured in the upload. Tom once again emphasized his love for Indonesia.
“I still feel great love for Indonesia, the country of my birth, and I will continue to dedicate my life to serving the country,” he said.
As is known, the case of alleged corruption in the importation of sugar in 2015-2016 only made two suspects. Both of them are Thomas Trikasih Lembong or Tom Lembong as Minister of Trade 2015-2016 and Charles Sitorus as the former Director of Business Development at PT Perusahaan Dagang Indonesia (PT PPI). Tom is still in custody for what happened to him.
