According to the American press, the interpreter of Spider-Man will be starring alongside Matt Damon.
Waiting for the next one Spider-Man , Tom Holland will work on a new film with Christopher Nolan. Although this feature film produced by Universal Pictures does not yet have a title, the release date has already been set for July 17, 2026. Plot details have not yet been revealed, but sources indicate that the film is not set in the present day (although it is unclear whether it is set in the past or the future).
The director will produce this film alongside his partner and wife Emma Thomas with the help of Universal Studio, which previously produced Oppenheimer. It was his first film without Warner Bros, with whom he had worked for almost twenty years, before slamming the door during the pandemic. The director did not in fact appreciate the decision of the production company which had broadcast their new films both in theaters and in streaming. A decision which, according to him, contributed to weakening the attractiveness of cinemas.

Matt Damon in the cast
Although nothing has been signed yet, it was announced earlier this month that Matt Damon was in talks to star in this new feature film. If it does indeed happen, it will be the third collaboration between the actor and filmmaker with Oppenheimer (2023) et Interstellar (2014). Matt Damon will join Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy among the actors who have teamed up with the famous director on at least three occasions.

A busy schedule
The addition of Tom Holland to the cast could lead to repercussions. Sources reported at Hollywood Reporter say that « the actor will spend the next year juggling this project and Spider-Man 4 with a likely hiatus so he can film Avengers : Doomsday.
Spider-Man 4, for its part, has been so delayed that it will lead Zendaya, Tom Holland’s partner, to shoot Dune 3 in early 2026 and not in 2025. »
After offering an Oscar to Cillian Murphy on a plate for Oppenheimerwon the award for best director, and received a statuette for best film as producer, perhaps Christopher Nolan will propel Tom Holland to the Oscars.
