Famous American actor Tom Hanks has announced the sale of one of his personal cars, and very remarkable – this is a classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 from 1980 in perfect condition. The specific car is very special and interesting because it has a special tuning.
The sale of the car at the Bonhams auction will take place on August 13. Estimated sale price is $ 75,000-125,000.
The frame Land Cruiser FJ40 was produced from 1960 to 1984. The specific copy, as already mentioned, was assembled in 1980.
The car looks authentic, but the unit in it has been replaced. Instead of Toyota’s in-line six-cylinder engine under the hood is General Motors’ 4.3-liter L35 Vortec V6 petrol engine from 2000. It develops 180 hp. and is mated to a five-speed GM gearbox.
The chassis has been upgraded with reinforced Old Man Emu shock absorbers and Warn front wheel hubs with locking. Toyo Open Country 31 x 10.50 R 15LT tires were used.

Hanks has ordered a change of interior to his liking. Porsche seats with high backs and electric adjustment are placed in the saloon. There is also air conditioning and a Sony audio system. The standard factory seats are also included in the sale.
In addition, the actor, a two-time Oscar winner, has left his autograph on the front panel, which further distinguishes this copy of the Land Cruiser FJ40 from the others.
