Considering his fame and fortune, not to mention the seemingly endless amount of blockbuster films he produced, one would assume that Tom Hanks has seen and done it all in the entertainment industry.
The veteran actor has worked with a slew of directors and actors, and his wealth of experience gives him an almost unrivaled knowledge of the ins and outs of the craft.
Still, Hanks will be the first to admit he’s never met a director quite like the legendary Clint Eastwood. According to reports, Hanks had never worked with the Dirty Harry star before Sully in 2016, and he was in for quite a shock when he finally got the chance.
In an interview with The Guardian several years ago, Hanks revealed what it’s like to work as an actor when Eastwood is sitting in the director’s chair. Reading this interview is very interesting…

I don’t know about you, but I was quite surprised to learn that Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood – two of Hollywood’s biggest titans for about half a century – had never worked together before Sully.
They’ve both starred in so many great movies over the years that I’d bet a lot of money that their paths had crossed somewhere in their professional pursuits.
Alas, Sully was the first time the two had pooled their creative talents, and the experience may not have turned out as Hanks envisioned it.
While appearing on The Graham Norton Show in 2016, the Saving Private Ryan star said, “You definitely don’t want one of those Eastwood looks.
He treats his actors like horses, because when he starred in the 60s series Rawhide, the director shouted “Action! and all the horses fled. So, when he’s at the controls, he says in a soft, calm voice: “Very well, go ahead”, and instead of shouting “Cut! “, he says” That’s enough like that “. It’s very intimidating! »

Intimidating she may have been, but few can argue that Eastwood’s methods don’t work. The iconic actor-turned-director has an impressive catalog of blockbuster films, including Million Dollar Baby, Letters from Iwo Jima, Gran Torino, American Sniper and, of course, Sully.
The 92-year-old is reportedly currently working on his latest film, titled Juror #2, and sources say his next project could be the last in his long and illustrious career.

I don’t know about you, but I would like Clint Eastwood to keep making movies forever. It’s such a special talent!
