Tom Hanks (63) and wife Rita Wilson (63) are now at home in self-isolation after treatment for Covid-19. They are in quarantine in their home in Australia, a spokeswoman for the actor said gesturing at the request of the dpa.
Previously, US media had reported that the couple had been released from a hospital in the Australian state of Queensland.
Preparation for Elvis film bio
The star from films such as “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump” had announced on Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday that he and Wilson were infected with the novel corona virus. He reported updates from the quarantine, most recently on Sunday when he thanked the helpers in Australia. “Let’s take care of ourselves and others,” wrote the actor.
Hanks and the Australian director Baz Luhrmann (“The Great Gatsby”, “Moulin Rouge”) are preparing an untitled film biography about the rock’n’roll legend Elvis Presley in Australia. In the biopic from Studio Warner Bros., Hanks is supposed to play the manager of the young singer. Filming was temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.
