Last month, the agent of international star Tom Cruise, Ms. Maha Dakhil, was fired due to her support for Palestine and her condemnation of the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza.
Variety magazine confirmed in a lengthy report that Tom Cruise, its most important client, showed his support for her and supported her in her ordeal, while others insisted on firing her completely.
Tom Cruise assured CAA that he would continue to work with her, which led to her continuing with the company as an agent and only stepping down from her position as one of the directors.
Maha had re-published a picture from an account called “Free Palestine,” and carried the phrase, “Now you recognize those who encourage genocide,” and then wrote, “This is what I have to say.”
Maha Dakhil continued by publishing another picture that said, “What hurts the heart more than witnessing genocide? Witnessing the world’s denial of the existence of genocide,” but she suddenly deleted the two posts.
Maha Dakhil apologized in a statement to Variety, saying, “I made a mistake by posting something on Instagram that contained hurtful words. I was heartbroken like many of us, and I am proud to be on the side of humanity and peace. I am grateful to my Jewish friends who commented on the connotations of the post and taught me more.” “I automatically deleted the post. I apologize for the pain I caused.”
