Tom Cruise to Return in Top Gun 3: Flight Spectacle with Old Faces

This news pleases all blockbuster fans. Tom Cruise returns to the camera in one of his signature roles.

When Tom Cruise steps in front of the camera, despite his 61 years, Hollywood action is guaranteed. No matter whether as Ethan Hunt in the “Mission Impossible” series, Pete Mitchell in Top Gun, which surprisingly became the most successful film of the year in 2022 with the second part “Maverick”, or as Jack Reacher. Cruise embodies these roles like no other.

Now the film studio Paramount has officially commissioned one of Cruise’s legendary roles to come back to the big screen. As the industry publications “Puck” and “The Hollywood Reporter” report, the script for “Top Gun 3” is already being worked on. The man responsible for this is Ehren Kruger, who was already co-author of “Maverick”. Joseph Kosinski is also set to direct the third part of the Flieger series again. It is currently unclear when filming can actually begin.

While there were an impressive 36 years between the first (1986) and second part (2022), fans definitely don’t have to wait that long for a sequel to the classic film. It is clear that Cruise will take off in the cockpit. But who will accompany Cruise on his next flight of fancy? Miles Teller and Glen Powell should definitely be there again. Fans are already speculating about smaller roles for the original cast, as was the case with Val Kilmer as Tom “Iceman” Kazanski.

It was almost logical that the film would get a sequel after its sensational success a little over a year ago. At that time, the blockbuster grossed an outstanding 1.37 billion euros at the box office. Given these circumstances, the next high should probably only be a matter of time.
