At a concert held on Sunday evening, at Windsor Castle, to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, star Tom Cruise surprised the audience with a video clip in which he appeared flying in a plane, sending a message to the king.
Cruz congratulated King Charles on the coronation, and jokingly said in the video: “From pilot to pilot, Your Majesty, you can be a pilot in my squadron at any time.”
The concert included a series of letters from celebrities, during which little-known facts about the king’s life were presented.
Cruz had previously attended other royal events, such as the celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II, in May last year, months before her death.
During the ceremony, Prince William delivered a speech in which he congratulated his father on the coronation, wishing that Elizabeth’s grandmother would be satisfied, as he said: “I know she is there, watching us fondly.”
The ceremony was attended by many stars such as Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli.
Coronation of King Charles
- Charles III was crowned Britain’s king in Britain’s biggest ceremonial event for seven decades, a show of pomp and grandeur that sought to blend a millennium of history with a monarchy fit for a new age.
- In a historic and solemn two-hour ceremony dating back to the reign of King William the Conqueror in 1066, Camilla, Charles’s second wife, was crowned queen.
- A huge military parade followed, rifle fire was fired in salute, thousands of soldiers cheered three cheers, military planes passed a little higher than the ground, while the newly crowned king and queen waved from the balcony of Buckingham Palace to the jubilant crowds gathered on Dhamul Road.
- Charles, 74, automatically succeeded his mother as British monarch after her death last September.
- The coronation is not necessary but is considered a means of legitimizing the new sovereign in a general way.
