Tom Cruise into space and a film studio for several films?

It was reported some time ago that Tom Cruise before a new film really goes into space. Now it looks like the much-loved actor may well be shooting several movies off our planet.

Cruise is known as a real daredevil and still does all his stunts himself, even though he is almost 60. For example, for the Mission: Impossiblemovies have already performed countless, life-threatening antics, while he Top Gun: Maverick learned to fly a real jet fighter in a short time. Now he goes one step further.

In collaboration with NASA and Elon Musk’s Space X, Cruise planned to make the very first real space movie. Unfortunately for the actor, Russia was just ahead of him, as they completed a 12-day lap last October for the yet-to-be-released The Challenge.

It shouldn’t matter, though, because Cruise is still going into space. Director Doug Liman, also known from The Bourne Identity in Edge of Tomorrow, will take care of the project. Now it looks like it won’t be just one movie.

Space studio
The SEE, or the Space Entertainment Enterprise, the company behind the film, has plans to create a production studio in space. It concerns a SEE-1, which will be linked to the Axiom Station, a commercial space station. This will in turn be an extension of the International Space Station, which should be ready in 2024 and will orbit the Earth in 2028.

SEE-1 will make up one fifth of the Axiom Station and will be used as a recording studio for movies, series and sporting events. So SEE founders Dmitry and Elena Lesnevsky have big plans, calling the creation a “unique and accessible home for endless entertainment possibilities in an environment full of innovative infrastructure.”
