Quarterback Tom Brady returned to New England on Sunday with a 19-17 victory for his Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a record in passing yards in NFL football.

The star quarterbacks, winner of seven Super Bowl trophies, completed 22 of 43 passes with 269 yards.

At 44, Brady broke the league record for passing yards on his first return to the New England Patriots court, where he won six of his seven Super Bowl championships.

Brady, considered the best quarterback in history, surpassed the 80,358-yard mark held by quarterback Drew Brees, who retired last year.

The quarterback took the record after a 28-yard pass completed to Mike Evans in the first quarter of the game in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Brady needed to complete just 68 yards to break the record of Brees, who was present at Gillette Stadium and applauded the achievement of his successor and great rival for years in the NFL.

– The Chiefs also smile –

Previously, the Kansas City Chiefs, current NFL runners-up, recovered from their slump this Sunday when they visited the Philadelphia Eagles (42-30), in Andy Reid’s 100th win as franchise coach.

Team star quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 24 of 30 passes for five touchdowns and 278 yards to snap Kansas City’s two-game losing streak to 2-2.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire caught one of the touchdown passes and rushed for 102 yards, while Tyreek Hill had 11 receptions for 186 yards and three touchdowns at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

This victory made Andy Reid the first coach in NFL history to win at least 100 games for two different teams: the Chiefs and the Eagles.

Reid won 140 games, counting the playoffs, on the Eagles’ bench from 1999 to 2012.

Later he took command of the Chiefs with whom he has a balance of 100 victories and 45 defeats, with a victory in the 2020 Super Bowl and a defeat in 2021 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“This is special for him,” Mahomes said of his coach. “He kind of became Andy Reid in Philadelphia. But when you look back (on his career), you’ll know him as a Kansas City Chief.”
