Tom and Jerry in New York: new animated series is coming to Boomerang

They’ve been chasing each other for over 80 years, and we never tire of it. After living their first adventures in MGM animated short films, which still earned them 7 Oscar awards in the 1940s and 1950s, Tom and Jerry went to live their best days on the small screen, in several spinoff series over the years, and even decades. Then, proof that they are still so popular in the 21st century, after having already cradled several generations of children around the world: the best enemies were recently entitled to a great epic in the cinema, in a film soberly baptized Tom and Jerry. The second feature film, only, being devoted to them to be released in theaters, last May. The first to tell their story in a mix of animation and live action, with Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) and Michael Peña (Narcos: Mexico) to the casting.

If we tell you about it, it’s because it’s this recent cinematic adventure that inspired the brand new series centered around the characters Tom and Jerry. Which, after having made a tour on HBO Max across the Atlantic, is about to be broadcast for the first time in France, on Boomerang obviously.

Unlike the movie, this one is 100% animated. But as in the film, it is in New York that the two little rascals will still play cat and mouse! Naturally baptized Tom and Jerry in New York, this new program indeed serves as a real sequel to the feature film, the duo having put down their suitcases in the prestigious establishment of the Royal Gate Hotel seen on the big screen.

Beyond that, you may find it resembles the last animated series devoted to Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse… Normal, we find for these new adventures the same team who gave us the Tom and Jerry Show – and that’s great news! While the latter has just come to an end this year, at the end of 5 seasons, its tasty episodes are also still being rebroadcast on Boomerang, so you will hardly have had time to breathe that the unstoppable duo is already back to wreak havoc on the small screen.

Of course, you, and more particularly your children, will enjoy these new episodes where, by dint of playing cat and mouse, the legendary heroes of the cartoons will cause incredible chaos in the Big Apple. Write it down in your diary: Tom and Jerry in New York, this is the new program that will undoubtedly make the little ones laugh, and will perhaps even arouse a sweet nostalgia among the older ones, not to be missed from next Saturday 23 October at 6.30 p.m., then every day at 3 p.m., in exclusivity on Boomerang.
