Toll Road Operator CMNP Claims to Have No Debt to the State: Jusuf Hamka Offers Proof and a Challenge

Toll road operator Jusuf Hamka keukeuh toll road company, PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada (CMNP) does not have a penny of debt to the state. As is known, the Ministry of Finance stated that affiliated companies have debts to the state of up to IDR 775 billion. This figure relates to the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI).

Jusuf Hamka also revealed evidence that his company does not owe a penny to the state. First, he stated that as long as there was a Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Task Force (BLBI), his name or company had never been on the list of obligors wanted by the government.

“Prove (evidence) is there. Have I ever entered a BLBI trafficked obligor? No, right,” said Jusuf Hamka when met in the Merdeka Barat area, Central Jakarta after visiting the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Tuesday (13/6/2023).

Then secondly, he emphasized that there had been a Supreme Court ruling stating that he was not affiliated at all with the Suharto family, in particular Siti Hardijanti Rukmana alias Tutut who owns Bank Yama.

Often the CMNP is associated with having an affiliation with Bank Yama. This has also caused CMNP’s debt, which was billed by Jusuf Hamka, to never be paid.

Jusuf Hamka also mentioned the existence of debt negotiations with the Ministry of Finance. In notes detikcom, this was done in 2015, the Ministry of Finance at that time asked for a discount so that CMNP’s debt was paid in principle. According to him, if indeed his party was still in debt, the Ministry of Finance at that time should not have invited him to negotiate.

“Second, I won at the Supreme Court, if I win, for example, if I still have debt, why should I make a Minutes of Agreement (BAP) boss? Why did I get summoned to the Ministry of Finance and ask for a discount too boss. Don’t argue with the coachman, don’t chatter,” explained Jusuf Hamka.

Jusuf Hamka further said that if it is proven that CMNP has a debt to the state, his party will pay 100 times the value stated by the Ministry of Finance.

“So, I said, if it’s Rp. 700 billion, I’ll give it 100 times, Rp. 70 trillion boss. Yes, it has to be proven. If it’s not proven, just pay me 1 silver,” he said.
