Abu Dhabi | With the introduction of the toll system on January 2, free bus travel has been allowed in Abu Dhabi with the aim of activating public transport. Free bus travel can be availed only after boarding private vehicles and parking at bus checkpoints.
According to the Comprehensive Transport Center, this will provide an opportunity for private vehicle users to avoid paying tolls to and from the city. Five hundred parking facilities have been set up in Mohammed bin Zayed City and Shahama. Those who commute to the city daily can avoid the toll and travel by bus from these places.
The ‘Park and Ride’ scheme offers two free services a day, 104 and 411.
