Tokyo’s Hachioji Elementary School Closed Due to Flu Earlier This Winter | NHK Metro Area News

Amid concerns about the simultaneous outbreak of the novel coronavirus and flu, a series of flu infections have broken out in public elementary schools in Hachioji City, Tokyo, and classrooms and classrooms have been closed.
It will be the first provision for this winter in public schools in Tokyo.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, at Hachioji Municipal Owada Elementary School, 36 out of 79 first graders complained of flu symptoms and were absent from school, and 19 people were confirmed infected by 14. That’s all.
Also, due to a series of flu absences between 2nd and 3rd grades, 1st grades will be closed, and 2nd and 3rd grades will be closed for 3 days starting on the 15th.
Amid concerns over the simultaneous outbreak with the novel coronavirus, the closure of classrooms and classes due to flu in Tokyo’s public schools is the first measure for this winter.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education has issued a notice to municipal education councils calling for thorough measures to prevent infectious diseases, such as frequent hand washing and wearing masks when necessary.
