Here we go again, with Fabio Fognini. As before, more than before. Yesterday’s match against Daniil Medvedev was a match between two characters, sometimes over the top. The problem is that both are true. Fabio is better than he looks. He’s an ex-boyfriend turned man, made more mature by dual parenthood. In recent times, he has become almost reflective, he is appreciating this career finale, he lives it with a certain serenity, appreciating every moment.

But at the same time, there are no justifications, he knows too, otherwise he wouldn’t have been so quick to apologize over the Internet. Every blessed time he falls back on it, every time he has to rewrite the same article. And very sorry. But if every person in the circuit spreads their arms when it comes to him, including Medvedev yesterday, “Fabio is Fabio, you know”, as you do with lost causes about nerves that never stay in their place, there is one reason.
