Tokyo back to record a spike in cases corona virus. Capital city Japan it recorded 284 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday (15/19), and was the highest daily increase since August 20.
Currently the Japanese capital has 28,420 cases of the corona virus. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike urged citizens to remain vigilant because the pandemic was not over.
A number of experts have analyzed the increase in economic activity and new infection clusters that triggered a spike in Covid-19 cases. “We need further vigilance on this trend,” said Yuriko Koike as quoted from CNN.
Nationally, Japan reported 707 new cases of Covid-19 and four deaths on Thursday. That figure is the highest spike since September 10.
The Ministry of Health revealed that the total number of corona cases in Japan currently stands at 92,143 and 1,663 deaths.
The government said the people’s desire to return to normal life also contributed to the increase in corona cases in Japan
“The public’s strong desire to return to normal life activates the movement of people and results in the expansion of the cluster of infections,” the government said Thursday.
The Tokyo City Government in July declared the emergency status level four or the highest, due to the increase in cases of coronavirus infection.
A level four warning signals “infection has spread” and Tokyo residents are urged not to travel across prefectural borders to prevent transmission to other regions.
The local government has also asked residents not to visit nightclubs that have not implemented Covid-19 prevention protocols.
