The 2023 Tokyo Game Show came to a successful conclusion today (24th). According to the organizer, Japan Computer Entertainment Association (CESA), the total number of attendees this year was 243,238, almost returning to pre-epidemic levels. At the same time, the 2024 exhibition will be held from September 26th to 29th.
The theme of this year’s Tokyo Game Show, “Games Transform the World,” explains that the world has been continuously affected by negative events in the past few years and has still been unable to advance the pace of gaming. Carry forward what only games can do, let games lead the world and become a driving force for global growth. When the game starts, the world will change as well.
Compared with the total number of visitors in 2019 before the epidemic, which amounted to 262,076; during the 2022 exhibition, because the epidemic was still in the midst of the epidemic and global borders had not yet been opened, only 138,192 visitors actually attended. The number of people this year reached 240,000. Although it did not break the previous results, it has almost returned to the pre-epidemic level, demonstrating the strength after recovery.
This year, a total of 787 manufacturers from 44 countries, the most ever, participated, using 2,682 booths. In addition to being the largest ever, this year’s negotiations also broke past records, with a total of 2,355 cases.
The 2024 Tokyo Game Show has been scheduled to be held at Chiba Makuhari Messe from September 26th to 29th.
