SAPPORO – Spain U-23 against Mesir U-23 in the first match of the sport (sports) Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The first match in Group C took place at the Sapporo Dome, Sapporo, Thursday (22/7/2021), noon WIB.
Spain U-23 played with their trademark, namely possession of the ball. This makes Egypt U-23 wait more because they are eyeing a counterattack. Even so, no goals were scored for both teams until the match ended.
The course of the match
The match started with possession of the ball belonging to Egypt U-23. However, Spain U-23 were able to quickly grab the ball to set the game in motion.
Even so, Spain U-23 difficulty to penetrate the defense of Egypt U-23. After 15 minutes of the game running, Spain U-23 and Egypt U-23 have not had a dangerous chance.
Spain U-23 got a golden opportunity through Dani Ceballos’ long-range shot in the 28th minute. However, Ceballos’ kick hit the post. The glasses score hasn’t changed either.
However, Spain U-23 attempted to score a goal before the first half ended. However, until halftime came, there were no goals for both teams.
The second half was not much different from the first 45 minutes. Spain U-23s still dominate possession, but this time not as free as before.
Egypt U-23 is able to provide tougher resistance to Spain U-23. Several attacks from Egypt U-23 were quite troublesome for the Spanish U-23 defense line.
Time was increasingly impartial to both teams, especially Spain U-23 who from the start had more of the ball. Meanwhile, Egypt U-23 was even closer to the defense so as not to concede a goal towards the end of the match.
The score of the glasses does not change until the referee blows a long signal to mark the end of the match. Spain U-23 and Egypt U-23 also had to settle for starting their journey at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a draw.
