– I was thinking about Austria because I have a coach there. We have been working with him for two years. It happened at night, we sent letters asking for help to several countries, including Poland. Poland spoke the fastest of all and offered help. I contacted my parents and asked where I should go. My parents said that it is better to choose Poland because it is close to Belarus and they can come here. I liked Poland, we have been here many times for competitions. I also came on a honeymoon with my husband. It is possible that I was drawn to Poland, hence my choice – said Kryscina Cimanouska.
Sprinter admitted that “the Czechs also offered support”, but it was Poland that reacted the fastest.
Cimanouska assured the newspaper that she plans to continue her sports career and hopes that she will be able to do so in Poland.
– The Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport is offering help and is to submit specific proposals to me next week. I will make the decision on my own, but if they are able to help me, I will be very grateful. I am very grateful to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which helped me get here from Tokyo and took care of my safety. I am grateful to the authorities in Poland, which woke up in the middle of the night and made decisions very quickly. They issued a humanitarian visa very quickly and allowed them to stay for two days at the embassy. Polish consuls accompanied me on my journey – said the sprinter.
