Tokumeien Garden: A Stunning Japanese Autumn Foliage Destination in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture

Tokumeien is a strolling Japanese garden located in Takasaki City. In addition to the pond stroll around Urashima Pond, there are four other areas: Karesansui, rock garden, and moss garden. Huge rocks and lava rocks of Sanbasai, which is considered a famous stone of Gunma, fun works by master craftsman “Rakuzan”, and various plants. The garden was created by Mr. Tokuzo Yamada, and it is full of the playful spirit that is typical of a merchant. As autumn approaches, the maple leaves become fiery red! The garden is built on the slope of a mountain, so there is a difference in elevation, so you can enjoy the view for a long time. We also recommend gazing at the autumn leaves while enjoying a cup of matcha on the veranda of the memorial hall in the center of the garden. Light-up events are usually held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from mid-November to late November. The inside of the park is enveloped in a solemn atmosphere that is completely different from the daytime.
