Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Bank Indonesia (BI) again raised its benchmark interest rate. The results of the Board of Governors’ Meeting which took place in the last two days decided that the BI 7 days reverse repo rate would increase by 25 basis points to 5.75%.
The Deposit Facility interest rate is 5%, and the Lending Facility interest rate is 6.50%.
“The meeting of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to increase the BI 7 days reverse repo rate to 5.75%,” BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said in a press conference, Thursday (19/1/2023)
Of the 13 institutions involved in forming the consensus, 10 institutions/institutions estimate that the central bank will raise the BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) by 25 to 5.75%.
As many as three institutions/institutions project that BI will hold interest rates at the level of 5.50%.
For the record, BI has raised the benchmark interest rate by 200 bps in the August-December 2022 period to 5.50%.
