Disabled people without specialized assistance, in class. Students without bathrooms in the corridors. The school year in Eboli is off to a bad start, very bad. The parents’ protests, presented via certified email, days ago, have been met with a piqued response from the Municipality: “If your children set fire to the bathrooms, there is really little we can do.” Wall against wall, the arm wrestling has been useful.
A few days ago, a group of parents wrote a very harsh note to the Municipality, to know if the bathrooms damaged and out of order in May have been repaired. The children of a middle school in the center, particularly lively, would find themselves with three toilets out of order. To use the only active bathroom, you have to queue. The condition of the only toilet available at the school is easy to imagine.
Students protest, parents raise their voices. But apparently, the solution is not easy to adopt.
The response from the Municipality was piqued.
One of the bathrooms that needed fixing was set on fire with a lighter. “And the damage doesn’t end here – they explain in the Municipality – in some bathrooms they blocked the toilets with toilet paper”. And this, apparently, is the least serious example of incivility among the students. “Often the girls block everything with sanitary towels”. Another phenomenon that repeats itself without interruption. The news comes a few seconds later: “The surprise of the school year that ended in May, were the condoms. We also found those blocking the fecal column”.
