Togo has just announced a disbursement of 1.5 million dollars or a little less than 1 billion FCFA to Turkey, which has been hit for a few months by an earthquake.
This gift from Togo is intended for “ heal the wounds of this country, which at the last report recorded more than 50,000 deaths caused by the earthquake. This contribution should also contribute to ” rebuilding the country said the Turkish Embassy in Lomé.
Togo makes this gesture, after having called a few days ago for an international mobilization at the bedside of Turkey and Syria, victims of several deadly earthquakes.
As a reminder, Togo and Turkey have a good relationship which is reflected in several initiatives. It is in this dynamic that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an official visit to Lomé in October 2021.
