#TodoVaAEstarBien: we also want to tell you good news in the era of the coronavirus | Univision Salud News

The rapid spread of the coronavirus around the world, which can have fatal consequences for the elderly, is causing many American families to pay special attention to the care of their elders these days.

This is the case of Luly Valls, a young woman from Miami who, since March 10, decided to prepare her 93-year-old grandmother Aurora de la Fe to be as protected as possible in her home and isolated from possible infections.

“She is my neighbor. She lives across the street and I go every day to bring her food that I leave clean on a porch chair,” Valls explains to Univision Noticias.

According to his account, at first his grandmother, a Cuban who arrived in Miami 60 years ago fleeing Castroism and who has 2 children and 10 grandchildren, thought he was exaggerating, but now he has understood the seriousness of the problem.

“Love in quarantine time ????” he wrote Luly Valls on his Instagram account next to this photo. “We must protect our grandparents. Mama can’t open the door to anyone, we leave snacks on the porch every day. She is 93 years old. But how pretty she is. I can’t wait to give her a big hug.”

Valls has not been the only one who has turned to social networks to raise awareness of the importance of complying with the social distance and isolation measures implemented by the authorities to protect the people most vulnerable to the coronavirus.

“My grandmother survived things that most of us cannot imagine in El Salvador. At 90 years old, she already has her own room (one that does not have a dirt floor), drinking water, electricity, a TV where she watches mass for fun about three times a day, “wrote the Los Angeles Times reporter Esmeralda Bermudez on his Twitter account.

“Don’t screw this up. Stay home”Bermudez asked in a tweet replicated by hundreds of people and in which he also called other users to share photos of his grandparents.

For his part, the illustrator of Cuban origin Edel Rodriguez He shared the photo of his 81-year-old dad dancing salsa.

“Dear USA, I have asked my 81-year-old dad to make this video for your enjoyment and exercise,” he wrote. “He sent it to me isolated from his home in Miami and asks everyone to STAY AT HOME so he can continue dancing for another decade or two. Thank you!” He wrote.
