Civil Society Mexico organized a Space on Twitter to comment on the publication of sensitive data belonging to Carlos Loret de Mola, under the name #TodosSomosLoret, in order to defend freedom of expression and point out how this right is violated, through financial threats.
“The manifestation of ideas will not be object of no judicial or administrative inquisition, but in the event that it attacks morality, private life or the rights of third parties, causes a crime, or disturbs public order; the right of reply will be exercised in the terms provided by law. The right to information will be guaranteed by the State.” says article 6 of the Magna Carta
According to portal data getdaytrendswhich measures global trends on Twitter, the #TodosSomosLoret was the fifth place in trends worldwide during February 11, the day in which the alleged income of a citizen who, not receiving anything from the government, has the right to the privacy of your data.

This Hashtag in total accumulated 252.5 K Tweets and the trend lasted a few hours, since #TodosSomosLoret was accompanied by a space that lasted 9 hours 45 minutes, and to which a million listeners connected.
The Space in question was positioned as number one in the social network due to the number of people who attended it and the number of hours it lasted, since this phenomenon had not been appreciated before in this exercise of the social network.

Participation in this exercise was sufficient and arose as a protest against the violation of the right of privacy that in Mexico individuals do have, since financial information can only be made public in the case of public servants or persons subjected to a process, so participation was not limited to journalists, but was opened to all members of society civil.
In the “morning” the data was released, in a presentation made with PowerPoint pointing out that they still had to be investigated, so that one of the two, either that presentation was lied to or a right was violated to stop the investigations that almost everyone has been talking about on networks for the last 15 days
It is important to point out that among the different voices there was one, that of Antonio Attoliniwhich sought to point out that the publication of the alleged earnings of a journalist is not something that should be brought to public debate.
However, the discussion lasted more than 9 hours, because the attendees considered that it was very important to talk about this in a country where it is dangerous to be a journalist, express free opinionor think differently from the dominant mentalities.
Everything that happens on the internet affects daily life
Everyone in Mexico knows that a couple of weeks ago the journalist, Carlos Loret, made it known that the son of the current president lived in a luxurious house in Houstonwhich collides with the speech of austerity and the extension of contracts between PEMEX and Baker Hughes.
The latter, because the house he inhabited Ramon Lopez Beltranpreviously belonged to Keith L. Schilling, who was a senior Baker Hughes official, which is a conflict of interest that must be investigated.
In part, social networks are the ones that have ensured that the research carried out by Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) and presented by Loret in his space in Latinus don’t fall into oblivion.
In order to discredit the reporter, the Mexican presidency has taken on the task of pointing out the need for society to know what he perceives as profit for his work, which makes no sense since Loret de Mola is an individual who works for private and non-public companies.
Need that is false, unless there is an investigation for money laundering, which would be hindered by disclosing details of said investigation publicly, so that if the information that was presented in the morning is false, then an act that harms the prestige of a person, who can demand their right of reply, but if the information is true, then the law was violated by disclosing private information that is protected by the data protection law.
Journalists in Mexico and the world saw it as an attack by the president, who violated the law and used the entire machinery of the State against an individual for exposing the life of a relative of a public servant to public scrutiny in the first place. grade.
It should be noted that if it is necessary to make use of the right of reply, it is done in accordance with the law, that is, by means of a formal request to the media outlet to clarify what it has published wrongly, at no cost, and not from a tribune. public, the law indicates here.
Not only reporters entered the Space #TodosSomosLoret
It is worth mentioning that not only reporters entered yesterday the Space that broke Twitter, authorities such as José Narro, actors and singers entered, in addition to UDLAP studentsand other institutions, not to mention to the citizens that although they are not renowned, they do care about defending freedom and democracy.
Although in most of the media it was pointed out to the #TodosSomosLoret as a rally of journalistsit is important to point out that the journalists attended an event organized by citizens and attended by citizens as guests
It should be noted that some people considered this exercise as a room to join forces against some individual in particular, but the invitation was always to demonstrate peacefully and respecting the human rights of others, so an attempt was made to open a public dialogue that was not limited to the echo of a voice from a bandstand in the zócalo and thousands of applause.
For now we leave you here the conversation in case you missed it.
The conversation continues, since the freedom to have it is maintained, as long as each individual is allowed to think for himself.
