/ world today news/ Defense Minister Todor Tagarev left for his visit to the USA in mid-January without an invitation from there. This indicates a response to the ABV from its department, party chairman Rumen Petkov announced to the media in Pleven.
In an application under ZDOI ABV requests a copy of the invitation of the Secretary of Defense of the USA Gen. Lloyd Austin to his Bulgarian colleague, information about the meetings held by Tagarev there, including the names of the officials with whom he met, about the commitments undertaken by the Bulgarian state to the USA on behalf of Tagarev. The questions to the Ministry of Defense were provoked by a statement by the Minister of Defense from the parliamentary rostrum that he was invited behind personally by Gen. Austin. It is also clear from the response of the Ministry of Defense that Tagarev in the States is “held high-level talks and discussed the provision of military aid to Ukraine” – a visit with the aim of instructing what exactly to give, comments Petkov. It is also clear from the reply that the Minister of War was received at a humiliatingly low level, by ordinary officials. From the position of a pathetic intruder who went to the USA as an uninvited guest, Tagarev humiliates the Bulgarian state, comments Rumen Petkov.
In front of the media, the ABV leader also commented The bill to amend the Law on Administrative-Territorial Organization, which liquidates the settlement system in the country and deprives thousands of Bulgarians of the right to vote. In the document, it is laid down that the status of town halls should be given to settlements with a minimum of 300 inhabitants, not 100 as is currently the case. Thus, the municipality of Pleven closes 5 town halls – Gortalovo, Kashin, Ralevo, Todorovo and Tuchenitsa. On the territory of the Pleven region, 25 town halls will be closed, and the most dramatic situation is in the municipality of Belene, where 4 out of 5 town halls will be closed. At least 10 are the town halls in the district, which are on the edge of the permissible population and which, within a few years, will also be liquidated. The draft law, the leading motive in which is financial resources, is a brutal attack on democracy, which deprives thousands of Bulgarians of the right to vote. The next step for the liquidation of the settlement system in the country, commented Rumen Petkov. The topic of the liquidation of villages has not yet entered the agenda of the Municipal Council, although the municipalities have received personal letters on the matter.
