Toddler Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run while Walking with Mother on Bronx Sidewalk
A three-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being struck by a reckless moped rider in a horrifying hit-and-run in the Bronx.
The incident unfolded around 1:00 p.m. on Friday as the little girl, Mylah Rojas, and her mother were walking along Holland Avenue in the Williamsbridge neighborhood. The video shared with authorities and media shows a blue moped with black stripes, driven by the suspect, ignoring safety requirements and recklessly operating on the sidewalk.
"I was right behind her and he just came out of nowhere and dragged her," Mylah’s distraught mother, Mariel Rojas, shared in an interview with Eyewitness News.
The impact left Mylah with serious injuries, including brain bleeding and swollen eyes. Hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center, the toddler drifts in and out of consciousness.
