Todd Howard Suggests The Elder Scrolls VI May Be His Last Game

Role-playing game The Elder Scrolls VI may be the last project to make Todd Howard.

He mentioned this in an interview with IGN, commenting on the long breaks between Bethesda Game Studios releases. Howard noted that he would like to release games faster, but speed is not his goal. The most important thing, he said, is to give games the time they need, pointing out that long gaps between launches of titles like Grand Theft Auto don’t have a negative impact on series.

In that context, and with planned long-term support for Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI, Howard began to think about how many more games he could make. Now the developer is 52 years old.

“If in the old days we would release a game and then move on to a sequel, now we can support our game for much longer, and that’s our plan. And then, if you look at Elder Scrolls 6, this is the case when.. “I probably shouldn’t say this. But when you think about it, I’m not getting any younger. How long have people been playing Elder Scrolls? It might be my last game. I don’t know.”

The other day, five years have passed since the announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI, but full-fledged development of the game will begin only after the release of Starfield, which will occur on September 6, and given how much time Bethesda Game Studios makes its projects, the release of The Elder Scrolls VI may well be missed the current generation of consoles.
