Today is Tuesday 3 January and these are the main news of the day:
1.- A radar problem caused delays on Monday in flights to and from Florida, for which hundreds of passengers had to wait hours. It was all due to a computer problem in the Federal Aviation Administration’s control center.
2.- The search continues for the person who opened fire on I-95 at a woman driving a Maserati car in the northbound lanes at Route 119. Police say a white car approached the victim’s vehicle and from there someone fired more than 30 shots. The attacker fled and the victim was taken to hospital, where she is recovering.
3.- Telemundo 51 obtained exclusive images of the moment when Cuban rafters asked for help from passengers on a cruise between Key West and Havana. The numbers continue to rise and there is already talk of a humanitarian crisis, given that more than 500 Cuban migrants have arrived in the Florida Keys since Friday.
4.- There is an alarm in Brickell due to a video showing at least two people parachuting from some of the tallest buildings in the city and flying over the Miami River. Miami police were contacted to see if they had made any arrests, but a spokesperson said they would investigate this incident.
5. According to a survey by the company Statista, exercising more and leading a healthier life are the top resolutions for the year 2023 in the United States. In a year marked by inflation, another resolution is to save money, followed by spending more time with family.
