Ahead of the meeting between President Yoon Seok-yeol and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon, which is scheduled to take place this afternoon, both the ruling party and the opposition party expressed their position that they “look forward to a meaningful meeting.”

However, the opposition party also ordered that President Yoon should be persuaded to support the Special Prosecutor Act on First Lady Kim Kun-hee.

Representative Han is expected to speak directly to President Yoon about the various controversies surrounding Mrs. Kim.

President Yoon Seok-yeol and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon will meet at the Yongsan Presidential Office this afternoon.

Representative Dong-Hoon Han, who was involved in the interview, did not make any public mention of the interview at the party’s official meeting.

Within the ruling party, there were voices filled with anticipation, saying, “Good open-minded and constructive dialogue should take place.”

“I look forward to it being filled with articles showing that meaningful results were achieved in today’s meeting between the President and our CEO Han Dong-hoon.”

The Democratic Party of Korea also expressed its position, saying, “How about a private meeting? What about a face-to-face meeting?” and “I hope for good results.”

He also asked, “This is a time when a change in the government policy is absolutely necessary, so please persuade the President well.”

“The two of you are meeting today, and I hope that you will not end it with excuses or formalities, but will be forward-thinking and produce a positive result.”

However, there was also a demand that “in addition to personnel reform of the President’s Office, we must ask the President to fully accept the ‘First Lady Kim Kun-hee Special Prosecutor Act’.”

This meeting, which took place a month after Representative Han’s request for a private meeting, was held in the form of a ‘three-party meeting’ with Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok in attendance, rather than a private meeting.

In today’s meeting, Representative Han is expected to mention three demands, including a promise to stop Mrs. Kim Kun-hee’s external activities, personnel reform of the President’s Office, and cooperation in the process of investigating Ms. Kim’s suspicions.

Meanwhile, first lady Kim Kun-hee and her mother Choi Eun-soon did not appear before the National Assembly’s Legislative and Judiciary Committee’s Supreme Prosecutors’ Office inspection, in which they were selected as witnesses, and the Legislative and Judiciary Committee, led by opposition party members, issued an accompanying order for the two.
