The daily Euribor rate drops to 3.133 percent. fall 29 miles in relation to the previous data.
The indicator falls on a day marked by the publication of the minutes of the last meeting of the European Central Bank (ECB), together with the beginning of the annual meeting of central bankers in Jackson Hole (USA).
At this meeting, which is held every year, the markets will pay attention to the messages sent by the president of the Fed, Jerome Powell, with a view to the monetary policy meeting in September, where this central bank could already apply a rate cut.
The Euribor has raised the beginning of this meeting with a fall and has left the monthly average, without six data, at 3.189 percent.
A year ago it closed at 4.073 percent. The average is lower than July, at 3.526 percent. The Euribor closed last July at 4.149 percent.
For now, those who got a mortgage will be aware of the reduction in July. For a mortgage of 200,000 euros, a 25-year term and Euribor plus 1 percent, the fee would go from 1,187 to 1,117 euros, which represents a saving of 70 euros per month.
What is happening with the Euribor
Most investment banks and international research services predict that the largest reduction in the numbers signal starts in September.
For Bankinter analysts in their quarterly strategy report, the reference Euribor forecasts for the nearest future are 3.50 percent in December 2024 and 3 percent in December 2025.
Bankinter rises compared to the previous March forecast, as does Caixabank, which puts the December 2024 indicator at 3.03 percent and to 2.46 percent in December 2025.
Finally, Funcas predicts Euribor of 3.32 percent at the end of 2024 and 2.79 percent in December 2025.
