Today’s Council of Ministers may bring changes to the list of councils at risk. Restoration support is also on the table

From the meeting of the Council of Ministers, scheduled for this Thursday, a new list of municipalities at risk may come out, changes that were, since the announcement of new restrictive measures to combat the pandemic of the new coronavirus, a possibility left by António Costa.

Last Saturday night, asked about the biweekly review of restrictive measures at the county level, Costa said that the international criterion of 240 cases per 100,000 inhabitants was adopted in the previous 14 days, and added that an assessment would be made this Thursday -market.

“As a result of this reassessment, there will be counties of 121 who will be removed from the list and others who should be included. It may be justified that next Thursday the Council of Ministers may adopt more restrictive measures ”, he detailed, indicating, to date, the example of Paços de Ferreira as a municipality that has a high level of incidence (more than 4,000 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants).

Portugal currently has 121 specific and more restrictive measures in place to combat the covid-19 pandemic in force due to the high incidence rate of cases recorded, with the limit of 240 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants being set as a threshold for inclusion in this list. of municipalities.

“Over the past 15 days, there has been a very different evolution in the epidemiological situation in all 121 municipalities and that is why it may be justified (I am not anticipating it, but it may be justified) that next Thursday we have already adopted different measures for the different municipalities ”, Costa added.

It is recalled that, since November 4, 121 municipalities have been covered by the civic duty of home collection, changes in hours in commercial establishments and mandatory teleworking, unless “reasoned opposition” by the worker, in response to the increase in the number of new cases Covid-19 diaries.

After leaving the meeting with the European Trade Union Confederation, held yesterday, Costa revealed that “special measures” are being prepared for the catering sector, which is so affected by the new restrictive measures of the State of Emergency.

Thus, after announcing that these measures would be known, between yesterday and today, they can, in the context of the Council of Ministers, be revealed by the Minister of Economy.
