As of today, Monday, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade will begin increasing the quantities of sugar offered on ration cards and disbursing a kilo of free sugar to a ration card that has 3 or fewer beneficiaries, and 2 kilos of free sugar will be disbursed to a card with 4 or more beneficiaries registered, at a price of 27 pounds per kilo and paid in cash, in addition to Sugar is distributed at a subsidized price allocated to ration card holders at a price of 12.6 pounds per kilo.
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade pumped large quantities of sugar to meet the needs of citizens, and the Consumer Protection Agency is intensifying monitoring campaigns on markets to ensure the provision of food commodities and also monitoring the extent of merchants’ commitment to the application of announcing the prices of basic commodities as part of the price reduction initiative.
