The ‘pink tide’ will reload the streets of Bilbao today on the occasion of Solidarity race against the Breast cancer organized by la gynecological and breast cancer association of Bizkaia, Acambi and the Urtzi Gymnasium. Registrations have reached the 10,000 expected by its organizers.
Running, which can also be done on footwill start at 11:00 in the morning on the esplanade of the Guggenheim Museum and is once again face to face after two years marked by the restrictions deriving from the pandemic that had forced the event to take place virtually.
From Acambi it was highlighted that the race returns with the usual objective, which is to “make visible and help in the fight against breast cancer”. The association is confident that this edition will be “a new success” as in previous years, starting this week the expected 10,000 registrations have been completed.
The registration fee was seven euros and includes jersey, number, supplies, insurance and assistance where appropriate. The race has an “exclusively charitable” goal and the money raised is used for research and to continue the project initiated by Dr. María del Mar Vivanco at the BioGune Research Center in Zamudio. In all these years, € 372,623 have been raised for this initiative. The race will be circular along the banks of the estuary, crossing the bridges Basque and Town Hall and having the Guggenheim Museum as a point of departure and arrival.
