It is the third edition to talk about art, culture, creativity and technology, Gfacct. It will go from today until next September 9.
More than two decades ago, sitting in front of the television, with an old console, two young people played video games for hours at a time. His parents, due to excessive time in front of the screen and concern about his “lost” childhood, disagreed.
Ironically, these young men turned out to be Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill, co-founders of Riot Games, a world-renowned video game developer and publisher, popular not only for games but for its online sports tournaments and for League of Legends and its virtual battles.
Back then creativity and fun were not associated with the industry as much as today, they were seen as entertainment rather than opportunity. These young people, however, saw in their passion and their hobby an option to create, innovate and profit.
“Creativity is the most important tool that marketing has to build a differential in a world where supply and impacts are the order of the day and we live with stimuli everywhere,” explains the Mexican by the way. Mariano Vives, creative director at Riot Games for Latam a EL COLOMBIANO.
He adds that creativity is the key to creating hyper-personalized offers, memorable for audiences, differentiated and that to achieve this successfully, “you must have a very good knowledge of the product, know how to play, how to sell, become an expert, understand what like it ”, so being a video game lover is a plus to be part of their industry.
Video games are one of several examples of the creative industry that takes advantage of ideas, art, culture and trends to create economic and social development and is one of the topics that will be the protagonist in the next edition of the Great World Forum of Art, Culture, Creativity and Technology.
