Today the Costa Rica Taxi protests begin in San José

This Monday the protests of the Costa Rican Taxi began in the capital San José.

The mobilizations have begun in front of the Public Transport Council (CTP), to demand that the digital application be launched to provide taxi service.

For months, the Public Services Regulatory Authority (Aresep) promised them a digital platform to operate, but the app still does not work.

The representative of the taxi drivers, Ricardo Venegas, said that the CTP is obliged by law to make the necessary tools available to the sector for the good performance of public transport.

In addition, they will go to the Contentious Administrative Court to ask for an account of the precautionary measures that the taxi drivers requested against Uber.

Meanwhile, in the Legislative Assembly the bill to regulate transport technology platforms does not advance in the Economic Affairs Commission.
