The presentation ceremony of the film award “Kristaps the Great” will start broadcasting from the pavilion of the National Film School of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LCA) today at 7.30 pm.
According to the representative of Latvian Television (LTV) Krista Luīze Priedīte, the live broadcast of the whole ceremony will be available on the portal “Lsm.lv”, where the first winners of the award in the categories of films and professions will be determined in the first part of the event.
“Lsm.lv” live viewers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the National Film Award together with film critic Daira Āboliņš, look behind the scenes of filmmaking and find out how the nominee feels about announcing the winner before the evening’s most anticipated nomination – “Best Feature Film”.
LTV1, on the other hand, will join the live broadcast from 9.10 pm, before announcing the winners in the categories that cause the most intrigue each year. Priedite pointed out that a total of 21 categories will be presented at the ceremony. The event will be hosted by actors Inga Alsiņa-Lasmane and Āris Matesovičs.
Zane Dzene, a representative of the festival “Lielais Kristaps”, informed LETA, the films submitted this year were evaluated by an international jury, which included Aija Bērziņa from the Latvian Film Producers Association, Kaspars Braķis from the Latvian Cinematographers’ Guild, actress and director Elita Kļaviņa, former Lithuanian Film Center Roland Lithuanian director Arūnas Matelis, director Juris Poškus, as well as Ieva Viese-Vigula, a member of the international film critics’ association “Fipresci”.
