Today the 2024 Population and Housing Census begins, which will be carried out throughout the national territory, with 10,000 census takers who will be deployed to collect the corresponding information.
The president of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR), Douglas Rodríguez, explained that the census will ask how many live at home, how many rooms they have, construction materials for their home, if a family member has died in recent months, if there is pregnant women at home, among others.
The census takers will be duly identified with shirts with logos of the Central Bank, Government of El Salvador, backpack, cap and card, which will have a QR code that can be scanned to corroborate that the census taker is really a collaborator.
This 100% digital census aims to obtain an exact number of the inhabitants and their living conditions, in order to bring economic and social development to Salvadorans. It will also be carried out in penal centers, hospitals, shelters and places of shelter, they reported. the authorities of the (BCR).
