Today is World Polio Day: Here’s what you should know about the disease

They indicate that the last case of the pathology in the area was discovered in 1991 in Peru, and in 1994 the entire area was confirmed to be free of wild poliovirus circulation.

However, the international entity insists that the danger still continues, because despite efforts to eliminate it, in some Asian countries children are still permanently paralyzed as a result of its ‘ virus, and that is why they urge people to vaccinate their children.
