Cajamarca begins today the second vaccination day with the aim of closing the immunization gap against covid-19, establishing as a goal to immunize 3,000 people in the regional day that will mobilize 127 brigades in fixed and mobile points.
Speaking to the Andean AgencyVásquez revealed that the virus has not gone away and that the omicron variant circulates in this region, according to the Diresa Epidemiology report, which indicates that 70% of processed samples have this variant, therefore, “it is important to be protected and complete the vaccination dose”,
with himema: Protect yourself, get all your vaccines and complete your doses, the Diresa reported that in three years of the pandemic, the vaccine has helped reduce the cases of deaths and patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU); however, it has not been possible to provide coverage with the doses.
“Las people who have completed their fourth dose have to wait two months to receive the bivalent vaccine. Older adults who have received the third dose will have to wait two months to supply the bivalent one”, asserted the regional coordinator of Immunizations of the Diresa.
Regarding hospitalized and deceased patients, Vásquez stated that between January and February there were 4 deaths from covid-19people between the ages of 48 and 50 who did not complete their vaccination doses, and older adults with other diseases that complicated their health status by acquiring the virus.
“With the full dose of vaccine, we can prevent patients from getting complicated and reaching the Intensive Care Unit,” said Ketherine Vásquez, specifying that there is currently a patient hospitalized for covid-19.
When invoking the population to get vaccinated today and tomorrow Saturday the 18th, the Director of Immunizations recalled that in the first vaccination carried out last February they managed to immunize more than 3,000 people, exceeding the goal of 2,000. The third vaccination will take place on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.
