Today, Blåvitt can secure the contract | Allsvenskan

Two big names were missing at Saturday’s training, the last before the match against Sirius: Marcus Berg and Simon Thern.

– Marcus is a little sick and Simon has been sick. But they are part of the 20-man squad, says Mikael Stahre.

Berg and Thern are not the only ones on the team who have been affected.

– We’ve had a bit of a cold. It is probably a mirror of the rest of society. Oskar Vilhelmsson, for example, has been ill this week and a few more players, but now most people train here today, says Stahre and looks over the rain-soaked pitch at Kamratgården.

“Hope the trend continues”

Three rounds remain of the season that is so tough for Blåvitt.

It is not yet completely clear that the team is ready for next year’s Allsvenskan, but it is not completely clear.

A victory against Sirius could mean that the contract is completely secured.

After the national team break in September, IFK Gothenburg defeated Halmstad – then the losses were lined up.

After the last break, IFK Gothenburg had the real fateful match when Örebro was defeated – followed by four more victories.

– I hope the trend continues. Now it is important to solve it even away, the two previous times we have played at home, says Mikael Stahre.

Can not take anything for granted

Although it looks better in the table than a few rounds ago, the coach does not want to take anything out in advance.

– We have been in a precarious situation over a fairly long period. Even though it looks better now, we are extra focused on doing three good performances and making sure to get it mathematically clear as quickly as possible, says Stahre.

– If you see the results in the Allsvenskan, where everyone beats everyone, you can not take anything for granted. It is not as it always has been, obviously we have had to win more matches than usual to stay on safe ground.
