The winner of this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature is scheduled to be announced in Stockholm on Thursday. The Swedish Academy will announce the winner’s name after 1300 noon local time (1100 GMT). The value of this year’s prestigious prize is 11 million Swedish krona (about 1.06 million dollars). The identity of the Nobel Prize winner is being kept secret until it is announced. In 2023, the award was given to Norway’s Jon Fosse, and the year before, to France’s Annie Ernault. The Nobel Prize in Literature is traditionally awarded as the fourth Nobel Prize. The winners in the scientific categories of medicine, physics and chemistry have already been announced this week.
The Nobel Peace Prize is scheduled to be announced tomorrow, Friday, and will be the only prize to be awarded outside of Stockholm, as it will be announced in Oslo. The annual Nobel Prize announcements in the economics category will end next Monday. The prestigious Nobel medals will be awarded at a ceremony to be held on December 10, the anniversary of the death of the prize’s founder and dynamite inventor Alfred Nobel (1896-1833).
