In the national wage round of the railway collective agreement (ETV) in regional local transport, ver.di Baden-Württemberg wants warning strikes in the country tomorrow. Hanna Binder, deputy regional manager of ver.di: “Given the current course adopted by employers, serious wage losses are inevitable, even with inflation falling significantly. This means that the skills gap cannot be closed, especially in driving services. With the warning strikes this week, we want to get employers back on track to sustainably strengthen regional local transport.”

With the warning strike, the union is dealing with the employers’ “completely unacceptable” offer in the first round of negotiations on October 7, which, for the record, has only ‘ provision for an increase of three percent in April 2025 with a term. of 24 months.

ver.di wants an additional 350 euros per month from October 2024 for a term of twelve months, in addition to an inflationary price of the still possible 1,300 euros. Only 600 euros is offered here.

The talks will continue on November 11.

The ETV, “collective agreement for employees of non-federal railway and motor transport companies”, regulates the working conditions and wages of around 5,500 employees in six federal states (Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Rhine-Westphalia North, Lower Saxony, Schleswig). -Holstein and Rhineland-Palatinate). Among the companies affected are bus companies, local rail transport and also freight railways. The collective bargaining parties are the United Services Union (ver.di) and the Association of German Railway Employers (AGVDE). Most companies are owned by public authorities.

In Baden-Württemberg, SWEG and AVG, among others, fall under the ETV. The first work stoppages have taken place today in the Karlsruhe area.
