TASS, December 3. The management of the Sochi football club suspended Alexander Tochilin from working as head coach. This was reported by the Sochi press service.
“Alexander Tochilin left the post of head coach of Sochi. By the decision of the club’s management, the 49-year-old specialist was suspended from working with the team,” the press service said in a statement.
Denis Klyuev will be the acting head coach of the team in the home match of the 18th round of the World – Russian Premier League (RPL) against Orenburg. Tochilin took charge of Sochi on September 17 after Dmitry Khokhlov resigned as head coach.
On December 2, Sochi in the home game of the 17th round of the RPL lost to the Samara “Wings” of the Soviets with a score of 0: 2, this defeat was the third in a row for the team. Sochi is in last, 16th place in the standings, gaining 10 points.
Tochilin previously headed Sochi in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. He was also the head coach of the Olimp-Dolgoprudny club near Moscow and the Krasnodar Kuban. During his playing career, Tochilin played as a defender for the capital’s Asmaral and Dynamo, with whom he won the Russian Cup in 1995.
