We have long known that Mario Golf: Super Rush will get extra content after the drop, and now we know exactly who arrives at the ball first. On Wednesday afternoon, Nintendo released the news that an update is just around the corner, and with it one can soon play as Toadette in the striking sports game.
She poses with her usual charming temperament, uses a huge hoe to fire super shots and sprinkles herself with turnips when she runs around in the game’s “Speed Golf” mode.
In addition to the new character, you also get a ranked multiplayer mode, improved motion control and a new track in the form of the big city New Donk City from Super Mario Odyssey. It all kicks off tomorrow, and the extra content will, as usual for Nintendo’s sports games, be free.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is the first golf game from Nintendo since 2014 and offers new characters, unique courses and a number of exciting modes. We found a lot to like when we reviewed the game a month ago, but the great excitement was lacking:
– Mario Golf: Super Rush is colorful, exciting and really fun in small doses, but over time it also quickly becomes much of the same. The developers could make up for this by making small changes to get a more dynamic and engaging gameplay loop, but instead the experience feels both stiff and uninspired at times, wrote the undersigned at the time.
