Debt financing a growing deficit is an extremely dangerous path that if a country goes down, going back is very painful. Increasing the deficit is very irresponsible, both for us and for future generations.”

“Interestingly, now the fight against smuggling, with the poor activity of the revenue agencies, is no longer relevant, now we just need to secure a few billion,” said the People’s Representative. Stoilov also recalled the reasons expressed by the head of state: “I cannot support an automatic understatement of revenues, without any attempt to improve tax collection, to optimize the work of revenue agencies, to improve their efficiency”.
“Isn’t that relevant today? If it is not, then recognize that the government in revenue work has achieved the maximum possible result, that is why this update is being made already in the middle of the year. If they are relevant, you should come out critically and say: we would allow an increase in the deficit, we would vote these funds so that there would be a correspondence between the adopted changes in the Health Fund Budget Act, several other urgent expenses to guarantee the stability of the country for the next few months, and then the regular government should come and say if it can work with this budget or if it needs to be changed,” the MP is emphatic.
According to Stoilov, we are now at Budget 2014, but in his change, he explained what is proposed.
“Budget deficit under the consolidated fiscal program, an increase of BGN 725 million. But that’s not all. The total deficit is likely to reach BGN 2.2 billion, which is already 2.7% of GDP,” he said.
According to him, those on the right are great proponents of fiscal discipline and compliance with European criteria, but in certain cases and “for our benefit”, they are a good recommendation that we are not obliged to follow. “Less tax revenue by 500 million . from VAT compared to the planned ones. According to him, one of the biggest achievements of today’s government is that it has secured BGN 500 million for the public investment program, which was implemented in the territory of 2/3 of the Bulgarian municipalities.
